Every quake in the box, not just the big ones

The archipelago sits on the most active stretch of the Ring of Fire, and magnitude 2.5 and up means dozens of events in a busy week. Quakestorm lists the last fourteen days of them, each with depth, distance, and an epicenter map framed on both the event and you.

Magnitude drives how an event is presented — its colour in the list, whether the alert is marked time-sensitive, how far it is allowed to interrupt you.

A forecast you can read at a glance

Current conditions, the next twenty-four hours, and seven days out — for where you are and for as many other cities as you care to follow. Each one plays live footage of its own weather behind the numbers, so a glance tells you what a reading takes a moment to.

Four kinds, each one switchable

Earthquake

Pushed from the server within about a minute of the event being published, so it arrives whether or not the app is open.

Rain

An hour before it starts, once the forecast for your location crosses 60% — far enough ahead to change plans, close enough that the forecast still holds.

Thunderstorm

Marked time-sensitive, so it breaks through Focus when a storm is overhead or on its way.

Tomorrow

One notice each evening at 7pm, and only when rain is actually likely tomorrow.

Nothing to sign up for, nothing to opt out of

There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs of any kind. Your saved cities, settings, and alert history stay on the phone. Your location goes to the weather service to answer a forecast request and nowhere else — never to our servers.

The only thing the server keeps is an anonymous Apple push token, so an earthquake alert has somewhere to go. Turn earthquake alerts off and it is deleted. Read the full policy.
